When Death Takes the Famous

We are a society that covets fame.

When Brad Renfro dies, we pause and listen for details.

When Heath Ledger dies, we stop and demand more information.

Why are we so fascinated with the incarceration of celebrity and the prison of fame it creates?

Celebrities must be pitied, not venerated.

Fame must be condemned, not perpetuated.
